The same files on every computer in the house.
Echofiles keeps the folders you choose the same on each of your Windows PCs and Macs. Install it, share a folder, and the other computers in the house pick it up. There is no cloud account to pay for.
Free for now, so get it while it is.
How it works
Three steps, and the last one repeats for every folder you want to keep in step.
- Share a folder from any computer.Your Desktop, Documents, Downloads, a project, a photo library. Any folder.
- Choose it on the others.Open Echofiles there and the folder is listed under On the network. Pick where it should live and it starts syncing.
- Carry on as usual.Save, rename, delete. Changes made on one computer show up on the others while they are on the same network.
Made for a home, not a data centre
Over your own network
Computers find each other over your Wi‑Fi or wired network and talk directly to each other. Unplug the internet and it keeps working.
One passphrase
Type the same passphrase on each computer and they see each other's folders. Leave it blank and any Echofiles on your network can join.
Comes and goes with the computers
A laptop that was away catches up when it comes home. If two computers changed the same file while apart, the newer one wins and the other is kept in Recovered files.
Deleting is not final
Deleted and overwritten files are kept on each computer for 30 days, so a slip on one machine can be undone.
Small and native
One program of a few megabytes in the tray or menu bar, with a proper Windows window and the Mac's own menus and dialogs. It follows your light or dark setting.
Windows and Mac together
Any mix of PCs and Macs, on Windows 10 and 11 and macOS 10.15 or later, including older Intel Macs.
